Monday...

It's dark gray and rainy and windy out, and I have a cold, and I think I will paint All Day Long....that makes me happy!

I've been working on a piece for Christmas-I was thinking I might do a few of these Nativity Scenes in different colors.  I'm waiting to see how this first one turns out.

Home for a visit...

Jacob came home for a visit yesterday.  I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face!  It's so nice to have him in the house again.  He's doing great in his classes and is loving the college life.  I'm sooooo proud of him :)

Bad news and good news...

So....I won't be in the Nov-Dec issue of Cloth Paper Scissors after all...thats the bad news, But the good news is I will be in the Jan-Feb issue!  So look for me!  I'm not even sure what the article will be.  Ugh!  Another lesson in "how to have patience" for me!
Don't worry if you forget cuz I'll be sure to remind the world about it when the magazine finally comes out!  hahahaha

I don't believe in black or white.  I don't believe in straight lines...I am a lovely mess of wiggles and scribbles in every beautiful shade of gray!  :)

Another day almost over...time to re-energize while I'm asleep-isn't that a weird thought.  Like stopping at the gas station to fill up.  Oh this crazy life...goodnight.

Way out of balance

Balance and perspective...I'm so out of sorts right now.  I need to get it together and slow it down a little.  I hate it when I get so out of balance.  It seems like I'm always working on this.

Missed it...

I'm so upset...I had signed up for the Portland Art and Soul retreat, and I missed it!  I was so excited for it and I got so caught up with all this college stuff that I completely messed up the dates and I missed it all.  I could cry.

Another...

Another day in this world...some days are long and some days are short.  Life is strange.

Jacob had asked me to paint him this album cover from a band he loves-Sublime.  I finally did just in time for him to take to college-that was the deal!

Better now...

Ok, I'm better now.  Jacob is all settled into his dorm room and there is such electric, young energy flowing all throughout the campus.  I know he will love it!  That makes me feel much better.  I think I'm over the big hump, maybe a few more small ones, but the big one is all cried out!  :)

Into the dorm room...

Taking Jacob to Eugene today, and getting him all moved into his dorm room.  I'm excited for him.  That will be my focus for now...his excitement.  Wise words from my mom-in-law.  Thanks Jeanne.

No wonder...

No wonder my last two paintings are mother and child.  How obvious can my subconscience be.  Hit me over the head why don't you.

Missing Jacob...

I miss Jacob so much, and he hasn't even left yet.  Life is so strange and confusing sometimes.  I didn't think it would be this hard.

Empty nest...

I really need to get a grip-I'm not losing him...This is what we hoped for, this is why we gave him those wings.  This is hard.
