An art doll?

I'd love to make cloth doll, but I am a horrible sewer!  If I could find a "blank" doll, then perhaps I might give it a try...any suggestions?

  3. Just dive in and do it! Draw the shape free form on muslin or any scrap of cotton or even a man's hanky. Crooked sewing just adds to the character! I totally taught myself to make fabric dolls--I even acidentally sewed the doll parts to my skirt while hand stitching. But I had fun, and I persevered and some of the more spontaneous things I came up with proved to be the most delightful. Make a simple shape, then hand stitch on bits and pieces of whatever, slop on paint, glue on found things...just play and explore and give yourself permission to goof up, because whatever emerges will be a true expression of your creativity.
