So I hope what I'm about to write doesn't sound too pretentious, but do you ever feel like you are about to create something bigger than yourself? Like you are just the vessel for this "special" project, and your job is to be open and listen and let it be created through you? My next project is going to be a Nativity Scene, with all the characters, and I'm feeling so excited and moved, and I keep getting new ideas and pictures of it in my head. I can't wait to see the finished project, almost as if I am just an observer myself...
Anyway, it is a wonderful feeling and I'm trying to just enjoy every bit of it. I think it will be beautiful and I am so anxious to watch it come to life.
Sort of funny...huh?

ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, Kelly!
I don't think this sounds pretentious at all. Art and life are gifts...and there are times when we are called to do something, create something that is bigger than we are. I look forward to seeing what is making you so happy, so joyful and so filled with energy.
ReplyDeleteI think this is awesome! I wish it would happen to me :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your new profile pic! You're such a pretty lady!
Ahhh, I can't wait to feel that feeling! Right now I'm still in the "what makes me think I can call myself an artist" stage...can't wait for the doubt to go away. But I do feel the excitement flow through me as i think of things I want to create!! i can't wait to see your creation! Love the profile picture too!
ReplyDeleteKelly, you are just a vessel and when you give into what comes through you...That's Art!

ReplyDeleteAs a painter too, I completely understand where you're coming from! Not pretentious at all, just honest. Creating is such a thrill, and even when you can see it in your mind, the outcome is always a surprise. Can't wait to see the finished piece!
