The doll experiment....

I'm calling this my doll experiment because I'm NOT a seamstress, so I'm having to be very creative to find a way to make a doll with MINIMAL sewing!  I have hopes for this, even though she looks sort of like an alien at this point-haha
Oh, and Cooper says hello :)

I'm Better For It....

A few months ago I met a wonderful woman on my blog.  We began communicating back and forth between our blogs and emails.  There was such a connection.  Then in October we met in person and shared 5 magical days together in Idaho.  I felt as if I had known Kolleen all of my life.  Our friendship has continued to grow, and I feel deep inside that we are soul sisters, finally united.  I am so grateful for this angel coming into my life.
Kolleens blog is awesome, and her artwork is adorable and energizing!  She has a way with words and questions that make you dig deep and find the truth.  She is running a 6 week series of stories, every Friday, that describe something difficult that someone has gone through in their life, and is now "better for it".  She asked me if I would share my story.  Her and I both believe that there is so much healing to be had when we share, not only for us, but for a reader in need.  So tonight she has posted my story.  I hope it gives hope to someone out there that has lost their way.  Life is good.
Thank you Kolleen, at Heartwing Sisters, for letting me share my story.  I love you soul sister of mine!

It's going to be a good day....

You know it's going to be a good day when you wake up to the news that you are featured on someone's blog.  It's a great feeling to be recognized.  The other day I recieved this very nice email from a woman named Debbie, asking if she could feature my artwork on her blog.  Well of course I said YES!  And so here it is...so fun for me!  Thank you Debbie, I so appreciate your kindness!

DEAR FRIENDS,

I am not sure if some of you know that your email is marked private in your blogger profile. This means when you comment on a post, I cannot respond. A few people who read my blog and comment on posts, have their email marked private and do not have a blog, so I am never able to respond to them. – such a sad situation.
really love responding to comments. I love having conversations with my readers and getting to know you all. Sometimes we become great pen pals, swap pals or even meet in person! All from a simple comment left on my blog!
Lately, I've noticed that many of you have set your e-mail to private. Which drives me insane and makes me really sad because I can't respond to your lovely comments or any questions you might have! Who knows how many responses I actually sent out to a noreply-comment@blogger.com address without even realizing it?
So, If you would like instant reply's from me, please go to your Dashboard, click “edit profile” and then check off “show my email address”. This will allow people to respond to your comments through email. - Also comes in handy when someone wants to "contact" you to let you know you've WON a blog prize! :)

Thanks friends...Love to you!
Kelly

Seek Peek at my ANGELS...

Okay...I have finished with 7 angels so far.  I'm so in love with them.  I made some changes to the original one that I showed you a week ago.  I'm SOOOOOOO happy with these!  I'll give you a little peek at all seven and a real good peek at one of them.
Hope you like....
Angel of Truth

Excited about my angels....

I've been busy working on my angels.  I'm just in love with how they turned out.  Today I'll be adding a few finishing touches and then I'll be able to give a little sneek peek.  I want to experiment and try to make a soft doll angel too, but this could be quite a challenge as I'm not the best sewer in the world.  We shall see how that goes.
Happy Saturday friends  XOXO

And a few more....

a few more journal covers....

I was very recently asked these three questions....
1.  What is my blog about?
2.  What inspired you to write or begin a blog?
3.  What do you hope your readers get from your blog?

These were my answers...

What my blog is about:
My blog is pretty much the art work and ramblings of my mind :)  I
love posting the artwork that I'm working on.  I love getting comments
and encouragement from my blog buddies-they are the best!  I love
sharing thoughts and ideas that come through my brain every now and
then.  I love sharing photos of something I find beautiful or
interesting.
I decided to write a blog because I was so inspired by others blogs
that I was reading.  Blogging has a way of keeping me focused and
inspired and aware of all the beauty around me.  I love it in so many
ways.  It has literally changed my life.  I've made so many wonderful
friends with this magical tool.  I have read some of the most
inspirational life stories and admired some of the most beautiful
artwork.  I love that my blog makes me realize small moments of
importance, that I might otherwise just overlook.  It has truely
enriched my life.
What I would hope for readers to get from my blog is just friendship,
honesty, and hopefullness.  I hope they will enjoy my artwork. I hope
they will get to know me and that I also get to know them.  I hope my
blog will bring them a smile once in a while.  Thats what I hope for
my readers.
Love,
Kelly

Journal covers....

I took some prints of my artwork, and embellished them with papers and collage pieces and came up with some journal covers.  I thought they came out pretty cute....Here's a couple...

Quote from a friend....

My friend wrote these words...I just want to share.
Artists
are risk takers, in self expression such that they drop the trappings or
protective wrappings and challenges the public to love or hate the
results of creation. Respect the history but put your interpretation on
it

Another sneek peek....

Here is the first angel-almost finished-she just needs a sealant of some kind-I haven't decided what to use.
ANGEL OF HOPE....

A little sneek peek....

Here is what I've been working on lately.  This is my idea that I want to present to major gift companies..  This is what came to me in the middle of the night the other night.  This is the passion that has been consuming me the last few days...I can see it in so many mediums...canvas's, flat dolls, soft dolls, ornaments, calenders and journal covers....I can see the whole display in my mind.  This is the first half of my idea...the other half has to do with contacting a publisher and telling them my crazy idea for a book...
If you like what you see here, please add me to your prayers.  I think I can use all the positive energy I can get. :)
Wish me luck....

Amazing today....

Melody posted a question on BRAVE GIRLS BLOG, asking us how we are going to be amazing today...This is my answer....

How am I going to be amazing today???? Well…I have this passion in my heart right now…it’s a passion for creating something and writing something. I’ve been knowing that the idea would come to me, and it finally has. It’s clear as day and I know what to do, and I feel in my heart it will be successfull…But…of course there’s always that But….I hate that But…doubt keeps trying to sneak in-I’ve been seeing it out of the corner of my eye and it’s little, but it’s still there. So I keep brushing it away and telling myself to listen to my heart. That’s the amazing thing I’m doing today…I’m brushing away that sneaky, little doubt, and I’m going forward with my project. I’m listening to my heart anyway. And I’m creating with passion and love and enthusiasm. I’m believing in my HEART!

quote....

When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning,by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live. - Greg Anderson

Read this quote today and just had to share...xo
