My new baby line.
Here is what I have been working on for the last two weeks. I really like these. My idea for this baby line is that I wanted to incorporate the attraction of black and white ( which has been studied and documented ) and a simpleness that is felt by the heart. I thought the old fashioned look to these pieces would look whimsical and fun in any type of baby decor, girl or boy. I think it could add an eclectic look and charm to any babies room. I hope you like. I've only done five so far, but I plan to make many more!
Each piece has the words I love you in tiny letters somewhere on the painting!

A new "Baby Line"
I've been working on an idea for a "baby line" of paintings. I've done five so far, but think six would be better. I will take some pics for you all to take a peek at.
We had a big snow storm last night, so glad we weren't out in it as people were stuck everywhere! Yikes!

Christmas gift video...
Today is Sunday. I will probably lay low and work on some art today. Maybe a couple of loads of laundry could get done too. This cold just will not loosen its grip on me. Today is day 10. Possibly the longest cold in history?...I think tomorrow I will go to the gym and try to work out, even it its only for 15 minutes. I need to get back into my routine. My mental health depends on it for sure.
My friend Jaquie sent me a video yesterday of her Mom and Dad (my friends also) opening their Christmas gift. The gift was a painting that Jaquie and her two sisters commissioned me to paint for them. It is of the three sisters and is surrounded by collage pieces and words. It was really fun to make, and it turned out really great I think. Anyway, the video is precious and there are tears and smiles and tenderness. It melts my heart and brings me tears also. It is a very special feeling to be able to touch someone with my art like that. It makes it all worthwhile, and makes me want to continue and to grow and to make everything with a pure heart. I will try to link that video here on my blog. It makes me happy :)

December 26th...
Is it horrible that I am sooo glad Christmas Season is over? But I am. I'm not a big Christmas person. I love the idea of celebrating the birth of Jesus, but to me it feels like Christmas Season is so over done and commercialized and there is way too much pressure. It makes me uncomfortable. I think I am always happier when it is over. Plus to me there is always a lonely feeling in the air at this time. I'm not trying to sound so down...I think I just like it when life feels more simple. :)

Cooper is doing better, more alert, but still hobbling around on 3 legs. Poor baby.

An Intense movie...
The other night my Payten and I watched the movie TAKEN. It was really intense. I cried myself to sleep. I just don't understand howthere can be such evil in this world. This movie was about a daughter being kidnapped and put into the sex slave overseas scene. It is so awful. I prayed and prayed for those that have to suffer. It is just overwhelming what human beings can do to each other. It makes me feel confused about life and why we are here. I'm having trouble getting this movie out of my head. How do parents live through such tragedies? My heart goes out to those who suffer. God please bless them and give them some peace.
HAPPY NEW YEAR CAKE
I just finished this one this morning. I'm sure having fun "baking" these cakes! Now, back to the Christmas season I go!

Face lift for my blog...
I just put up a new background for my blog. I love it! I think it will be more complimentary to my artwork, and I think it is just more calming and pretty. I just love the free blog stuff at Itkupili, free blog stuff. It was fun remaking my blog tonight. I am easily entertained! haha

Meeting Lisa Kaus
Today was a great day. Actually it started kind of blue, but turned out awsome. I went to a store in Sellwood, OR, called THE JEALOUS GARDNER. This is a beautiful store with garden type decor and some plants and flowers. It is always an inspiration to go there during ANY holiday because you go home and just want to decorate your whole house...Anyway...LISA KAUS was there today having a trunk show. She had some original work there as well as some of her prints and gift items. I love her work so much. She and Kelly Rae Roberts are my two favorite mixed media artists, and I admire their work so much. Lisa's is the class I had signed up for at the ART AND SOUL event, that I was so excited about and ended up missing. Ugh...that was a heart break! Anyway....I met her today and she was lovely and sweet and I bought one of her originals! Merry Xmas to me!!!! I had my husband take our picture, so her we are...
p.s. Lisa, if you happen to see this, I hope I didn't come off as a stalker! I just was really excited to meet you as I really love your work and admire your style and free spirit. It was really great to meet you!
